Steamboat is a smaller resort town than Vail or Breckenridge. Quality slopeside inventory is limited. Book 2–4 months ahead for peak January–February weeks, and 4–6 months for Christmas/New Year's.
Steamboat's free ski shuttle is frequent, reliable, and covers the whole town. You don't need a rental car if you're staying in either the mountain village or Old Town — and parking is a hassle in both places.
